Sept Meeting: Russell Prescott CD-1 Congressional candidate & Janet Stevens, Executive Council candidate

Just a reminder for our meeting later this week, Thursday Sept 26th, 6:30 PM at Stratham Municipal Center Large Conference Room (just around the corner from the library).  2024 Election Season is heating up!  Our agenda for our next meeting is as follows:

     

Janet Stevens, Executive Councilor for the State of New Hampshirehas a long history of public service and is known for her tireless commitment to bringing accountability to state contracts and agencies, transparency to the process, and fighting for the best interests of her constituents.

For more than 29 years, Executive Councilor Stevens has served New Hampshire residents as a gubernatorial appointee, non-profit steward, municipal government leader and small business owner. She has served on non-profit boards representing health, education, preservation, and performing arts since 1992, including AIDS Response Seacoast, Strawbery Banke Museum, Prescott Park Arts Festival, and The Music Hall. As a gubernatorial appointee, Councilor Stevens served on the Board of Mental Health Practices and the Investigation of the Seacoast Cancer Cluster.

Janet and her husband Dr. Bob Stevens have been Seacoast residents for 30 years. They have 2 grown children – a son who is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marines and a daughter a student at Bowdoin College. A former elite level distance runner, she spends any spare time biking, hiking, and skiing NH trails with her family.

Russell Prescott was the first person to announce he is running for congress in 2024 and that hard work has paid off as he is the NH District 1 Congressional Candidate!

He has many years of experience in both the legislative and executive branch of NH government. He was a State Senator in District 19 in 2001-2002 and then again in District 23 in 2003-2004 as well as in 2011-2016. Then he was elected to the Executive Council for the third district and served from 2017-2020. In all he was elected six times to the Senate and twice to the Executive Council.

While doing all of this he has been the President of R.E. Prescott Co., Inc. in Exeter for 40 years where he currently employs a team of 55. The company specializes in water and wastewater pumps, tanks, and filters. He has proprietary products that include water born radon and arsenic remediation.  Many of his products are based upon patents that he has to his name. Russell has a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern Florida and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Russell is a successful inventor, businessman, and politician.
