Janet Stevens, Executive Councilor for the State of New Hampshire, has a long history of public service and is known for her tireless commitment to bringing accountability to state contracts and agencies, transparency to the process, and fighting for the best interests of her constituents.
For more than 29 years, Executive Councilor Stevens has served New Hampshire residents as a gubernatorial appointee, non-profit steward, municipal government leader and small business owner. She has served on non-profit boards representing health, education, preservation, and performing arts since 1992, including AIDS Response Seacoast, Strawbery Banke Museum, Prescott Park Arts Festival, and The Music Hall. As a gubernatorial appointee, Councilor Stevens served on the Board of Mental Health Practices and the Investigation of the Seacoast Cancer Cluster.
Janet and her husband Dr. Bob Stevens have been Seacoast residents for 30 years. They have 2 grown children – a son who is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marines and a daughter a student at Bowdoin College. A former elite level distance runner, she spends any spare time biking, hiking, and skiing NH trails with her family.
