August Meeting: Janet Stevens, Executive Councilor & Chris Bright CD-1 Congressional Candidate

Just a reminder for our next meeting, Wednesday August 21st, 6:30 PM at the Wiggin Memorial Library.  2024 Election Season is heating up!  Our agenda for our next meeting is as follows:

     

Janet Stevens, Executive Councilor for the State of New Hampshirehas a long history of public service and is known for her tireless commitment to bringing accountability to state contracts and agencies, transparency to the process, and fighting for the best interests of her constituents.

For more than 29 years, Executive Councilor Stevens has served New Hampshire residents as a gubernatorial appointee, non-profit steward, municipal government leader and small business owner. She has served on non-profit boards representing health, education, preservation, and performing arts since 1992, including AIDS Response Seacoast, Strawbery Banke Museum, Prescott Park Arts Festival, and The Music Hall. As a gubernatorial appointee, Councilor Stevens served on the Board of Mental Health Practices and the Investigation of the Seacoast Cancer Cluster.

Janet and her husband Dr. Bob Stevens have been Seacoast residents for 30 years. They have 2 grown children – a son who is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marines and a daughter a student at Bowdoin College. A former elite level distance runner, she spends any spare time biking, hiking, and skiing NH trails with her family.

Chris Brightis a proven leader, West Point grad, decorated combat veteran, and successful entrepreneur and business executive. An innovative, charismatic leader and proven fighter, Chris will take on the dysfunctional Washington establishment to secure our border, revive our economy, and restore confidence in our institutions.

Chris Bright is a West Point graduate and experienced leader with deep geopolitical experience and a proven track record of success in business.  After graduating from the US Military Academy, Chris was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army as an Engineer Officer.  A decorated veteran, Chris was also the Grizzly Award winner for 2000, which recognized him as the top company-grade engineer officer in the entire active duty Army.  During his service, Chris gained valuable experience as a geopolitical strategist and diplomat, representing American interests overseas and working directly with combatants, non-governmental organizations and allied countries to secure important agreements that helped foster economic development and stability in the Balkan region.

In Bosnia, Chris led important missions ranging from working with victims of the Srebenica genocide to assist them in rebuilding their economies to conducting patrols along the infamous “Sniper Alley” to maintain peace and stability as part of the NATO peacekeeping forces.  On a separate deployment to Kosovo, Chris brought enemies together and negotiated a deal between the Albanians and Serbs in Pasjane, Kosovo, to work together on the construction of a destroyed bridge.  He also planned, resourced, and oversaw the rebuilding and restocking of several schools across that country with an eye toward building a lasting peace.  Chris was also a part of Operation Bright Star in 1999, which was one of the largest joint military operations in history outside of WWI and WWII that involved 11 nations and 70,000 personnel.
