It was a tough day yesterday for voting in Stratham. Besides the vote on the Governor, everything was blue. You could attribute this to a number of things. Increased political rancor could have reduced the number of people willing to pick for both sides (even our popular governor almost didn’t make it). Hot topic issues that spilled over into local elections (abortion). Or we might have thought (I myself am guilty of this) that given the current economic disaster which we all face, people would surely vote for the Republicans, given their focus on fiscal measures/responsibility.
I would like to commend Pat and Joanne who worked very hard this election cycle. Hats off to them for all that they have done, and all that they might yet do.
While this is a setback, demoralizing, and extremely frustrating/sad… we can’t let it damper our resolve to keep championing reasonable governance, sound fiscal policies, and family centric values. Onwards and upwards.
